Product description
Set of five original Sawbuck chairs (model CH29) designed by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn. This is an early production set from the 1950s, with original manufacturer stamps on the underside of the seats, confirming authenticity.
The chairs are crafted in solid oak and have been professionally reupholstered in black skai, providing a clean, timeless look while remaining true to the character of the design. The sculptural sawbuck frame and expressive joinery make the CH29 one of Wegner’s most recognizable and iconic dining chair designs.
A rare early set, combining strong provenance with excellent usability.
CONDITION:
Good vintage condition. The oak frames are sturdy and well preserved, with normal age-related wear consistent with use. Overall a well-kept and attractive set.
