Designed and patented in Paris in the early 1940s by Jean Leclerc, the Sanfil lamp belongs to a generation of French industrial lighting fixtures created to meet the demands of workshops and machine tools. Its name, a contraction of "sans fil apparent" (without visible wires), reflects the innovation of the era: the wiring is fully integrated into the articulated arms, offering a safer and cleaner design for work environments.
This particular example has been fully restored with meticulous attention to its originality. The joints have been polished to highlight the beauty of the raw cast aluminum, while the steel arms have retained their original khaki color, with a natural patina acquired through time and use. The internal wiring has been completely renewed, and each joint has been carefully greased to restore full mobility. Mounted on a mechanical base in the same spirit, this Sanfil proudly displays its utilitarian past.
The fabric cord is easily replaceable thanks to a connection inside the base and can be supplied free of charge in the color of your choice, subject to availability: black, yellow, green, blue, etc. Just ask!
