A remarkably charming antique vase/bottle titled Water Lily by Samuel Alcock & Co, of Cobridge, Staffordshire. An elegant British creation in white on lilac parian ware manufactured in 1850, which the mark on the bottom indicates. Parian ware is a biscuit porcelain imitating marble and named after Paros, the Greek island renowned for its fine-textured, white Parian marble. This bulbous jug is a beautifully crafted floral example with a smear-glazed relief in soft pastel tones and gorgeous fluting of the neck. It's obviously handmade with it being somewhat skewed and having variations to the molding, which all adds charm to this piece. A lovely little addition to multiple of interior styles. Would stand fancy on a dresser table, boudoir, desk, etc. Height 19 cm Diameter 15.5 cm
No chips or cracks, does show markings to the glazing, mostly the white flowers show slight discoloration.
