Exquisite Saliscendi pendant lamp. Italy, 1960s. A very rare model, post-war modernism. Influenced by space age and retro futurism. Large dome in glossy yellow lacquered metal and brass. Below is a matching mini dome with star-shaped perforations, easily attached to the bulb. Adjustable height. Double pulley raising and lowering system with brass fittings, typical of post-war Italian production. Heavy cylindrical counterweight in brass. Textile-covered cables, typical of the late 1950s. The light source is also encircled in brass. A very high-quality Italian production, with meticulous attention to detail. The raising and lowering mechanism is very smooth, remaining stable and holding its position perfectly. Dimensions excluding the handle: Adjustable height 70/140 cm. Diameter 45 cm.
