This pair of safari chairs follows the line Kaare Klint set out in the 1930s with his Safari Chair, a design later continued by makers such as Wilhelm Kienzle.
The frame is solid teak with a warm, rich colour. Seat and backrest are sturdy beige canvas, stretched with wide leather straps and secured at the base with adjustable buckles that are both beautiful and functional.
What makes these chairs special is the fully demountable construction, with visible wooden pegs, screws, and leather buckles. The chair breaks down in moments and rolls up like a tent, ready to travel or simply be stored. The canvas shows clear signs of use, with some staining and discolouration. The construction is still fully intact, the comfort even better. The backrest is adjustable and moves with you, whether you want to sit upright or lean back.
Price is for the pair.
