A beautiful kitchen item, much loved in the 1970s, when stoneware, wood, and natural materials found a prominent place in home decor. This generous pickle jar is crafted from glazed stoneware, featuring a beautiful grayish-beige tone nuanced with brown and dotted with natural speckles. The material feels warm, possessing that unique presence characteristic of ceramics from this era. On the front, the inscription "Cornichons" (Pickles) appears in relief, accompanied by the word "Paysans" (Farmers) rendered in a flowing, decorative script. Above all, the ensemble has retained what gives it all its charm today. Its thick, deliberately rustic natural cork stopper almost forms a small crown atop the jar. It comes with its wooden pickle tongs, designed to slot neatly on the side. The combination of stoneware, cork, and wood gives it that rustic aesthetic, so characteristic of the 1970s. With its pleasing proportions – approximately 16 cm in height for the jar itself, nearly 19 cm with its stopper, and 12 cm in diameter – it makes a real statement on a shelf, sideboard, or countertop. While it can naturally revert to its original function, it will just as easily find its place in a contemporary kitchen, where its character will bring a particularly warm vintage touch.
