An absolute masterpiece, this museum-worthy high-end Mid-Century Modern and Space Age design ceramic wall plate. This ceramic wall panel (wall tile/wall plate) depicts a beautifully stylized, rearing horse. Made by the top West German manufacturer Ruscha Keramik in the 60s/70s. The panel is beautiful in terms of color and texture: The horse comes to life in the intense, high-gloss flaming orange/red color, accented with deep cobalt blue mane and hooves. The background features a rough, heavy volcanic/volcano metallic 'Fat Lava' glaze in anthracite, decorated with organic red and olive green patterns. The back is unmarked (which is common with this series, which originally featured a sticker or fine handwritten marking) and features the original factory hanging holes on the top edge for a flush, sleek wall mounting.
