A floral rural painting by the Impressionist painter Prof. August A. Wendehals.
I hereby offer an Impressionist landscape painting by Prof. Wendehals, featuring beautiful native flowers and plants at the location where he painted it.
A German painter (1934-2003) who received an award from the International Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 1995, as an honorary title of Professor and as an honorary member.
Wendehals is better known for his urban paintings in Southern Germany, Italy, and Southern France.
Partly for this reason, this painting of his is so special. The landscape is directly and concretely present. Through his work, he attempts to counteract the growing distance between man, nature, and home.
The painting has been cleaned; it had a dull sheen. Now the painting truly comes into its own and is almost tangible, with its rural character and native vegetation. Over the decades, Wendehals developed his own unique style. Through his characteristic brushwork and palette knife technique, the depth of field he achieves gives his paintings an almost three-dimensional quality.
