This piece is No. 4 in the series, titled Out of Africa, as confirmed by the original factory inscription on the underside. In contrast to the narrative, illustrative tone of other Reiseimpressionen designs, Out of Africa adopts a radically graphic and symbolic visual language. The decoration is composed of bold, geometric signs rendered in black and warm ochre-gold, arranged in rhythmic bands around the vessel.
