A striking large-format porcelain bowl from Rosenthal, produced in Germany and decorated in the classic Chippendale style. This decorative piece combines an opulent historical rim form with a vividly coloured, almost theatrical central motif, resulting in an object that sits confidently between tableware, wall décor, and display art.
Design & Decoration
The bowl is finished in a rich green ground, over which a finely detailed paradise bird motif unfolds. The bird, rendered in warm gold tones with accents of red, blue, and ivory, is shown in dynamic movement among stylised foliage and blossoms. Delicate gold detailing is applied throughout the composition, lending depth and luminosity to the surface.
The gently undulating Chippendale rim, highlighted with an elegant gold edge, frames the scene and introduces a sense of Rococo-inspired grandeur. The satin-glazed porcelain softens reflections while enhancing the painterly quality of the décor.

Two very small areas where the green ground reveals the porcelain surface as a short thin line, possibly production-related.
