Product description
For sale is an original, high-quality porcelain figurine of Marianne Simson from the Rosenthal Art Department in Selb, designed by the renowned German sculptor Lore Friedrich-Gronau (1908–2002). Lore Friedrich-Gronau is considered one of the most important porcelain artists of the 20th century. From 1939 to 1961, she designed numerous figurines for Rosenthal based on famous dancers and actresses of her time. Her works are characterized by exceptional elegance, dynamism, and the highest level of modeling precision, and are among the most sought-after art figurines in the Rosenthal Art Department today. This figurine depicts the actress and dancer Marianne Simson (1920–1992) in elegant pointe work. Marianne Simson received her dance training from the renowned ballet master Victor Gsovsky, danced at the Berlin State Opera, and later became known for numerous film roles.
