Beautifully designed cat/lynx with relief decoration.
Designed by Bertil Vallien in 1978 for the Terra series, produced by Rörstrand Sweden.
This cat was made in two sizes.
This is the largest: 21 x 8.5 x 20 cm.
Weight: 1045 grams.
Marked and signed on the bottom.

Bertil Vallien is primarily associated with his internationally recognized glass art. However, he began his ceramic studies at the Konstfack Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm in 1955. Since then, he has occasionally designed for ceramic factories in both Sweden and the United States. One of his most famous pottery series is "Terra" from the Rörstrand factory. This series, designed in 1978, consisted of animals, bowls, pots, and vases. They were made of stoneware with antique relief patterns.
