A very elegant zoomorphic rooster-shaped pitcher, a work by Roger Capron (1922-2006), made in Vallauris around 1955. This emblematic piece of the post-war revival of Vallauris ceramics is distinguished by the quality of its modeling and the balance of its proportions. The nuanced white glaze subtly reveals a bluish background, giving the piece depth and luminosity. The base is delicately decorated with stylized foliage in shades of blue, a characteristic motif of Capron's work in the 1950s.
