We turned the hourglass over for a very special piece of furniture and gave it a new, radiant life.
The Story of the Furniture
This dressing table with matching mirror in the elegant Louis XV style (Rococo) was crafted with high-quality workmanship. Once a heavy, dark piece, we recognized the enormous potential of this classic in its curved shape, cabriole legs, and delicate floral wood carvings.
Our Restoration Process
In our workshop, we gave this solid oak treasure a new identity:
Restoring the Material: The old finish was carefully removed. The top was sanded by hand over many hours, so that the natural, distinctive oak grain is fully revealed and offers a warm, authentic feel.
Modern Color Scheme: The body of the dresser and the original mirror frame were finished in a matte, elegant sage/eucalyptus green. This color lends the piece a light, timeless elegance, allowing it to blend harmoniously into modern living spaces.
Refined details: The original Baroque brass fittings have been professionally cleaned and then finished with a high-quality gold plating. This creates a cohesive, radiant look that underscores the piece's sophisticated character.
A new home
Whether as a luxurious dressing table in the bedroom, a stylish accent in the dressing room, or an eye-catching feature in the entryway – this handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece retains its historical charm while radiating modern luxury.
