Welcome to the Second Life Atelier!
We turned the hourglass over for a very special piece of furniture and gave it a new, radiant life.
The Story of the Furniture
This dressing table with matching mirror in the elegant Louis XV style (Rococo) was crafted with high-quality workmanship. Once a heavy, dark piece, we recognized the enormous potential of this classic in its curved shape, cabriole legs, and delicate floral wood carvings.
Our Restoration Process
In our atelier, we gave this solid oak treasure a new identity:
Restoring the Material: The old surface was carefully removed. The tabletop was sanded by hand over many hours, so that the natural, distinctive oak grain is fully revealed and offers a warm, authentic feel.
Modern Color Scheme: The body of the chest of drawers and the original mirror frame have been finished in a matte, elegant sage/eucalyptus green. This color lends the piece a light, timeless elegance and integrates it harmoniously into modern living spaces.
Refined Details: The original baroque brass fittings have been professionally cleaned and then finished with a high-quality gold plating. This creates a unified, radiant overall look that underscores the furniture's high-quality character.
