This Italian pitcher, an exceptional work by Roger Capron, dates from the 1950s and embodies the bold style of ceramics from that era. Manufactured between 1953 and 1965, its "Fer de Lance" decoration evokes the beauty and creativity of the French Riviera. Signed Capron Vallauris A20, this rare pitcher testifies to the remarkable talent of Capron, who played a key role in the golden age of ceramics, alongside such figures as Picasso and Derval. In 1970, he was awarded the Grand Prix International de la Céramique for his visionary work. Among his notable projects, he was asked to renovate the decoration of the Byblos Hotel in Saint-Tropez, thus asserting his influence in the field of ceramics during a flourishing period.
