A design where contemporary design, high-quality furniture production, and luxurious textiles come together. The object was produced in week 12 of 2021 and features the original Roche Bobois labels.
What distinguishes this ottoman is the interplay between the understated, architectural form and the richly woven jacquard. The upholstery is not a printed fabric, but a high-quality woven textile with layered floral motifs, geometric patterns, and various yarn structures that create depth and a luxurious texture. As a result, the object has the appearance of a collectible design piece, rather than a conventional ottoman or sofa.
The Montgolfière series is one of the most recognizable collaborations between Roche Bobois and Marcel Wanders. In this version, Wanders' sculptural design is combined with the rich world of color and pattern by Kenzo Takada. The result is a piece of furniture that operates at the intersection of furniture design, textile art, and decorative object.
The condition is very good to excellent. The jacquard upholstery is fresh in color and shows no visible discoloration, stains, or significant wear. The only signs of use are on a few legs in the form of light superficial wear consistent with normal household use.
Thanks to its generous size, the ottoman is versatile and can be used as a footstool, coffee table with tray, extra seat, or freestanding statement piece.
