Futuristic asymmetrical 'Comete' sofa designed by Vladimir Kagan for Roche Bobois, 2003. Completely modular. The two large parts can rotate around the armchair. For example, a corner arrangement can be created or a long sofa can be created. The last photo shows a playful arrangement without the armchair. This is an example photo and is not a photo of the sofa offered. We purchased the sofa from Roche Bobois in 2003 and had it partially reupholstered over time. Corner sofa Comete consisting of: 1 x large arm unit, L: 250 cm x W: 140 cm x H: 80 cm 1 x large end unit, L: 308 cm x 127 cm x H: 80 cm Handrails in Drusilla fabric, wool, red. Base/seat reupholstered in 2011 in Topas fabric, wool, class no. 624 Red. Armchair Comete, diameter 100 cm x H: 80 cm Reupholstered in 2019 with woolen fabric Elgin Morion, color anthracite. Total length 640 cm X 120 cm About the designer Vladimir Kagan Kagan (1927 - 2016) grew up in a family of renowned architects and designers. He studied architecture at Columbia University before turning to furniture design. In the 1940s and 1950s, he worked in his family's business in New York, which produced modern furniture. In the 1950s, Kagan began creating his own designs and quickly gained a reputation for his sculptural and organic furniture. Many great people own furniture by Kagan. Over the decades, Kagan has developed a range of lounge furniture, chairs, sofas and dining tables that have been praised for their comfort, elegance and originality. He has also worked on interior design projects for hotels, restaurants and public spaces. Kagan was inducted into the Interior Designer Hall of Fame in 2009, 62 years after he began designing and manufacturing furniture.The upholstery is intact, but the armrests have a very light, not noticeable discoloration.
