Vintage • Bistro/Guéridon Style with Queen Anne Influence
A strikingly sturdy side table featuring a round top on an elegantly turned pillar base and three curved cabriole legs. The matte brushed aluminium provides a cool, industrial look with a classic bistro shape — perfect as a spot for a vase, plant, or drink next to the sofa.
🔍 Definition
Shape/Style: The turned baluster column on a central sphere with three flared cabriole legs (S-shaped, “Queen Anne”-esque) is a silhouette that originated in 18th-century English/French furniture design and was frequently reused in the 20th century for smaller occasional tables and bistro tables — often referred to as the guéridon shape. Material & Make: Solid cast aluminium (not sheet metal) points to mid-20th-century or later casting production.
Aluminum was used for this type of elegant, “classic” furniture form primarily from the 1960s to the 1980s — as a lighter and more low-maintenance alternative to cast iron or bronze, popular for both indoor and outdoor furniture (patio/garden and hospitality tables).
Origin: No foundry mark or stamp visible in the photos, so a definitive attribution to a specific country or workshop cannot be given.
The type comes from both Italian and French/Belgian production of that period.
