First exhibiting in the early 1960s, Robert Anglada was considered one of the most exciting new artists of his generation. At just seventeen, he won the "A la pintura Jove" prize at the Sala Parés and subsequently received a scholarship from the Cercle Maillol of the Institut Français de Barcelona, allowing him to study art in Paris. The work he submitted to the Cercle Maillot, which won a prize, was intended for exhibition at the Museo de Arte Moderna in Barcelona, but was eventually rejected because it was too daring and erotic. His paintings soon attracted the attention of critics such as Alexandre Cirici, Xavier Rubert de Ventós and Maria Lluïsa Borràs, who described his work as "disturbing." He was admitted to the Salon de Mai in Barcelona three years in a row. His work is influenced by Art Informel, the paintings of Francis Bacon and the barren landscape of the Terra Alta in Horta de Sant Joan. They reveal an inner world that testifies to the deconstruction of perceived reality. Anglada has participated in numerous exhibitions throughout Europe, including Paris, London, Barcelona and a host of German cities, and even in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Robert Anglada, der erstmals in den frühen 1960er Jahren ausstellte, galt als einer der aufregendsten neuen Künstler seiner Generation. Er gewann bereits mit siebzehn Jahren den Preis "A la pintura Jove" der Sala Parés und erhielt darauf ein Stipendium des Cercle Maillol am Institut Français de Barcelona, das ihm ein Kunststudium in Paris ermöglichte. Das Werk, das er beim Cercle Maillot einreichte und einen Preis gewann, sollte im Museo de Arte Moderna in Barcelona gezeigt werden, wurde aber am Ende als zu gewagt erotisch abgewiesen. Seine Malerei erregte bald die Aufmerksamkeit von Kritikern wie Alexandre Cirici, Xavier Rubert de Ventós und Maria Lluïsa Borràs, die seine Arbeiten als "verstörend" beschrieben. Er fand Aufnahme in den Salon de Mai in Barcelona für drei aufeinanderfolgende Jahre. Seine Arbeiten zeigen sich beeinflußt von der Informellen Kunst, von den Gemälden Francis Bacons sowie von der kargen Landschaft der Terra Alta in Horta de Sant Joan. Sie zeigen dabei eine Innenwelt, die von der Dekonstruktion der wahrgenommenen Realität zeugt. Anglada hat zahlreiche Ausstellungen in ganz Europa, darunter Paris, London, Barcelona und einer großen Anzahl deutscher Städte, und sogar in Kandahar, Afghanistan, beschicken können.
