Kai Kristiansen: Model 42
The Z chair (Z-chair), also known as chair no. 42, by Kai Kristiansen and made by Slagelse Møbelvaerk. This dining chair or office chair is made of teak. The teak is still in very good vintage condition, with minimal signs of wear. This chair owes its characteristic Z shape to an artful suspension of the backrest, which moves with your back.
What may seem a bit uncomfortable at first glance, actually fits like a glove. The armrests are exactly the right length: long enough to provide support, short enough not to get in the way when getting out of the chair. Clearly, Kristiansen has carefully considered this. The teak chair has been reupholstered by our professional upholsterer with high-quality (Retro) faux leather and is therefore in very good vintage condition. We always choose this Retro leatherette because of its high quality and subtle sheen, which makes it look very similar to the original upholstery. This is confirmed by our customers.
