This armchair is a beautiful example of sophisticated bourgeois furniture from the Biedermeier period (first half of the 19th century). Crafted in Bohemia, this authentic piece showcases the era's superb sense of proportion, comfort, and high-level cabinetmaking. The chair features a distinctively curved backrest with an integrated handle cutout for easy handling, alongside elegantly scrolled armrests that seamlessly flow into gently contoured cabriole legs. During a comprehensive professional restoration, the internal frame – constructed from a sturdy combination of solid spruce and oak masiv – was reinforced, and the outer walnut veneer was meticulously conserved. The original wood polish was carefully revived, beautifully highlighting the warm tones and rich, natural grain of the walnut. Furthermore, the armchair has been newly and professionally upholstered using traditional techniques (including hand-tied springs and classic padding materials) to ensure authentic firmness and lasting seating comfort. The piece is finished in a premium fabric featuring a classic Biedermeier vertical stripe pattern in blue and gold-beige, neatly accented along the borders with matching textile trim.
