This is an Art Deco bar cart produced by Thonet in the Czech Republic during the 1920s. The piece exemplifies the era's transition toward functional modernism, combining traditional woodworking with early industrial materials.
The trolley is constructed from oak with a rich veneer finish, featuring three distinct tiers. The top tier incorporates a glass surface, while the lower shelves are solid wood. A prominent chrome handle provides a striking contrast to the warm brown tones of the timber. The cart is mobilised by two large, spoked wheels at the front and smaller casters at the rear, allowing for smooth movement.
The piece has been restored, preserving its structural integrity and aesthetic character. The wood displays a deep, even patina, and the chrome elements retain their reflective quality, reflecting careful maintenance over the decades. Made of solid oak with oak veneer.
The handle and wheels are made of chrome-plated steel. Revived original polish. Professionally cleaned chrome.
This trolley serves as a functional accent piece for dining or living spaces. Its clean lines and mixed materials make it suitable for both classic Art Deco interiors and contemporary environments seeking a historical focal point.
