Rene Magritte's Crazy Postmodern Table Lamp or Floor Lamp by Antartidee Italy from the 80s. Material: Artificial stone with metal flexible arms. Dimensions: h. 67 x w. 30 x d. 15 cm. Antartidee is an Italian design brand founded in 1986 by artists Roberto Ferioli and Mauro Montermini in Reggio Emilia. It is known for handmade and hand-painted home accessories with a surreal and ironic style, such as wall clocks, coat hooks, sculptures, and picture frames (100% Made in Italy). I gave it the name: Frankenstein's Foot. Due to its crazy appearance. René Magritte's most famous work featuring feet is the painting *The Red Model* (*Le modèle rouge*) from 1935; it shows a pair of boots seamlessly transitioning into bare human toes. The motif and its meaning – The concept: Leather boots transition into real human feet in the lower part. The shoe thus becomes the foot itself. The shock effect: Magritte combined everyday objects in a way that made them appear strange and uncanny. The image blurs the line between the living body and the inanimate object. Multiple versions: Between 1935 and the 1940s, Magritte painted various, very similar variations of this motif, including versions showing sand and a wooden wall in the background.
