Beautiful color offset lithograph by Rene Magritte. Sheet size 60 x 45 cm in mint condition. When René Magritte was thirteen years old in 1912, his mother was pulled dead from the Sambre River. She had thrown herself into the water with a cloth over her forehead. He repeatedly refers to this tragedy in his work with illustrations of a woman whose face is covered. Magritte had two brothers: Raymond and Paul.
