Reim Interline Description
Founded in 1974, the company produced decorative individual pieces of furniture, upholstered furniture, lighting, and accessories in a style of modern elegance. In addition to works by Paolo Nava (sofa "Scala"), Thorsten Neeland (console table "Arthur," mirror "Gallus"), Ulf Moritz, and Peter Preller, the designs of Peter Maly and Andreas Weber, considered one of the most important representatives of high-tech design in Germany, were particularly noteworthy. Weber created, among other things, the "Museo" cabinet system (with an asymmetrical body and concave doors), the "Visiona" sideboard (with roll-up doors and amber-colored doors), the "Stratus" stainless steel table, the "Aura" console table, the "Phyllis" armchair, and the "Felicitas" lighting series for Reim Interline. Peter Maly designed the "Facades" cabinet series with postmodern fronts, which are mirrored in systematically structured gable fronts. The five facade and interior layout options include "Nike" (front in high-gloss black polyester lacquer), "Luna II" (lacquered front in various colors or in Bolivar veneer square, polished brass fittings), "Cubic" (cubist basic form, front in pearwood veneer), "Minos," and "Pallas." Maly's "Art Deco Nova" program consists of a group of individually designed furniture elements developed from the design language of Art Deco.
Among the most successful collections of the 1990s were Peter Maly's "Quadrat Nova" program (1993) – a continuation of the "Quadrat" program developed in 1980 – and Andreas Weber's "Galleria" modular system (1993) – a design distinguished by its lightness. The central section of the cabinet offers an 80 cm wide storage space, concealed by sliding doors. The adjoining side sections can be configured as desired: as open shelving, as a glass display case, as additional storage with lacquered hinged doors, with CD compartments, or with drawers. The sliding doors, which are available in Bolivar wood with striped relief (as block strip or round bar relief) or optionally with a silk-matt glossy stainless steel surface, float in front of the Bolivar wood frame that encloses the black lacquered body.
