About Art Pottery Factory Regina:
In 1898, Regina was founded by G.F. van der Want and G.A.A. Barras as the first Dutch factory producing enameled tobacco pipes. The initials WB can therefore often be found on Regina pottery. In 1917 the production of Gouda pottery started, also tiles were made. Typical is the plain green glaze on the underside of the high-gloss pottery, in the 1920s matte glazing was also used to keep up with fashion. Many products can be placed within New Art or Jugendstil. During and after World War II, Regina produced dinnerware with designs by Floris Meydam and others.
In 1979 the factory closed due to deteriorating economic conditions and restarted as Regina Wotra, Ateliers voor Ambachtelijke Kunst in Bleiswijk under A.J. van Dijk. In 1989, a new branch opened in Bergschenhoek called Artihove Regina B.V. and the Bleiswijk location was closed. Artihove still exists today, although the production of Regina plateware has been discontinued.
When shipping, the item is carefully packed to prevent damage.
1 baking flaw in the center of the vase of 0.1mm however hardly noticeable.
