Vitra Amoebe High Back Lounge Chair — Red Fabric. Design classic, rare to the market.
Designed by Verner Panton in 1970 for his celebrated "Visiona" installation: a psychedelic, futuristic living environment staged aboard an exhibition ship at the Cologne Furniture Fair. The seat and backrest form a sculptural unity, with the organic shape inspired by single-celled organisms, hence the name. On the High Back version, the extended backrest curves over the head of the sitter, creating a niche-like canopy.
Made in Germany by Vitra, with a laminated frame backrest and polyurethane foam upholstery.
Structurally sound, very good used order throughout with no holes or repairs.
Very comfortable.
