Painting from 2004 by Moluccan painter Raymond Bakker, purchased by me at his former www.galerieOOST99.nl in Hoorn. Acrylic on canvas. Raymond (1951) is self-taught and often works in series; a series of works on a particular theme can run from 10 to 15 works; the works are narrative, he also calls them meaningful fabrications. Besides paintings, he also makes (wall) objects and applied art. The works are poetic and intimate. For "Kunst aan de Vaart" In Assen he has made an excursion besides his usual style, namely the series "Ikatterikat" (tangled knot), a series inspired by the Ikat art on the Moluccas where his roots are. September 14 and 15, 2024 Raymond will exhibit at "Kunst aan de Vaart" in Assen: Rab.Exto.NL. He also exhibited among others at Kunst.nl and at Art Connection in Leeuwarden. In the past at Huntenkunst in Ulft, Galerie Noord Groningen, in the Boterhal in Hoorn ("fleetschouw") in the Moluks Museum in Utrecht and many other places. In great condition, has hung in bedroom in smoke and pet-free home.
