Vintage Scandinavian safari armchairs, 1970s. The sturdy chairs have a solid pine frame between which the black saddle leather seat is stretched. The leather backrest is slid over a frame. The leather straps on the back of the seat give the chairs a nice robust character. The chairs bear a strong resemblance to the Karin Mobring Diana safari chair for Ikea, but have a different shape of the wooden frame. Perhaps prototypes or craftsmanship? Certainly this model is rare, perhaps the only one of its kind. Designer and manufacturer are unknown to us.
Condition: good vintage condition. Light traces of use on the wooden frame and leather in accordance with age. Beautiful patina.
