A unique piece of Dutch design history. An original, freestanding Tomado bookcase crafted from the highly exclusive and sought-after rosewood.
This minimalist black wire steel rack was designed by Adriaan Dekker for Tomado. While most Tomado racks are known for their colored metal shelves, this particular piece is a rare top model from the brand's more expensive line from the 1960s.
The three wooden shelves are made of rosewood and feature an incredible, deep, and flame-like grain. The intense contrast between the warm red-brown tones and the dark veins gives the rack an incredibly luxurious and warm appearance.
The major advantages of this specific Tomado.
Fully freestanding: This is a floor model. Therefore, you do not need to drill into the wall; the rack can be placed directly and flexibly anywhere.
Optimal stability: Equipped with the original metal cross brace (X-brace) at the rear, ensuring the rack stands firmly and stably. Modular & flexible: The rosewood shelves can be hung at various heights within the black wire frame according to your own preference.
Condition:
The rack is in beautiful, authentic vintage condition. The lacquer on the wood still shines beautifully, and the shelves have no deep scratches or rings. The black metal frame is also still very sleek and has a deep color. A beautifully preserved design icon!
