A rare table lamp from the 1950s, produced by Stilux Milano. This sculptural lamp is made of brass, opaline glass and the original red transparent acrylic (the latter in acrylic is very rare as most are metal). The opaline glass provides warm light. The acrylic "visor" can be rotated over the glass bulb to adjust the angle of light. The brass has developed a beautiful patina over the years and the acrylic "visor" shows signs of wear that come with age and use. The modernist shapes and clean lines are typical of Stilux Milano, which also worked with innovative materials such as plexiglass and metal. They were best known for their designs of table and floor lamps, often with adjustable functions and innovative lighting technologies. Their innovative and modernist designs are still admired and collected by enthusiasts and collectors today.
