Offered: A beautiful and iconic Thonet "Siesta Medizinal" design recliner, designed by the legendary brothers Hans and Wassili Luckhardt (together with Anton Lorenz). This rare, medically-ergonomic model was produced in the 1960s by Thonet Frankenberg and is an absolute masterpiece for lovers of high-quality Bauhaus and mid-century design.
The chair features an ingenious, synchronously adjustable mechanism that allows the chrome-plated tubular frame and the upholstered cushions to move seamlessly into a comfortable reclining position.
Condition and authenticity:
* Overall condition: The chair is in very beautiful, original vintage condition. The chrome shines beautifully and the black leather upholstery is excellently maintained.
* Back / Suspension: Very unique for this model: The original elastic tension cables (rubber straps) on the back are all still completely intact, have their original tension, and are absolutely not dried out or torn. This is rarely seen with this design!
* Authenticity: 100% original. The characteristic bakelite adjustment knobs feature the original, embossed Thonet logo (see detail photo).
A unique object that fits perfectly into a modern, vintage, or industrial interior and also stably retains its value.
