An exceptionally special and rare side table designed by architect Ronald Willemsen, produced by Metaform in 1982.
This rare table was Ronald Willemsen's graduation project, designed in 1980.
The very first example was made of wood, and in 1982 Metaform began producing it in plastic, glass, and metal.
The tables were made only to order, so very few are in circulation.
Ronald Willemsen received an award for this design in 1980, and we can all see why: it's a spectacular piece of furniture!
Sculptural side table model RW1, designed by Ronald Willemsen and manufactured by Metaform, Holland, 1982.
This well-designed side table is made of solid steel and is of heavy quality. The table has been awarded by the Dutch foundation "Goed Wonen," which annually presents awards for outstanding and innovative designs. We understand why. This table boasts a playful design that never ceases to amaze. It has an origami-like shape, constructed from four similar triangular metal plates.
Made of thick steel and appearing fragile, the table is actually exceptionally well-constructed and very strong and sturdy.
Its attractive size makes it easy to combine with other modern design pieces.
The table is stunning from every angle and is in fantastic condition.
Metaform is a Dutch furniture manufacturer that has been developing a contemporary collection of side tables, coffee tables, and dining tables since 1964.
