This set of eight Victorian plates is a creation of the English manufacturer Brownfield & Sons, renowned for its fine earthenware from the late 19th century. The "Texas" pattern, produced around 1880, illustrates the era's enthusiasm for detailed botanical motifs and asymmetrical compositions inspired by Japonism. Made of ceramic, these plates feature a cream background enhanced with a polychrome floral decoration dominated by blue, green, and touches of yellow and brown. The elegantly off-center central motif is framed by a delicate geometric frieze on the rim. The "Brownfield & Sons Trade Mark Texas" mark is clearly stamped on the back of each piece, attesting to their origin and authenticity.
