Beautiful, hand-blown glass carafe (jug) in the iconic Scavo technique from Murano, Italy. This model features an extremely elegant and rare monochrome design. Both the carafe and the handle are made of the exact same amethyst/lilac purple glass. This minimalist use of color is a well-known signature of the top studio Seguso Vetri d'Arte from the 1960s/70s. The glass has a unique, stony, rough texture on the outside and is filled with millions of tiny air bubbles on the inside (Bullicante/Pulegoso effect). In the sun, the carafe casts an incredible, deep purple shadow! The base features a perfectly smooth-ground and polished pontil ring: the ultimate proof of authentic Italian craftsmanship.
