This large floor vase from Karlsruhe Majolica, designed by Friedgart Glatzle in the 1950s, is a striking example of German mid-century design. The vase captivates with its classic, bulbous silhouette and the characteristic crackle glaze, which lends the piece a special depth.
Made of ceramic, the vase presents itself in a soft, mint-green hue, punctuated by the fine network of the crackle glaze. Standing 41 cm tall and with a diameter of 21 cm, it makes a substantial statement. The base bears the mark "Karlsruher 5681," confirming its origin and model.
The vase is in very good overall condition, with the original glaze and shape fully preserved. It displays the typical character of a carefully maintained vintage object from this era.
This piece fits perfectly into a Scandinavian or mid-century modern interior. It's ideal as a standalone decorative object on the floor or a low sideboard, where its color and texture can be showcased to their best advantage.
