Rare hand-painted Art Deco room divider – in the style of Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" (ca. 1920–1935)
Unique six-panel Art Deco room divider/paravent, entirely hand-painted in the style of Michelangelo's famous "Creation of Adam" from the Sistine Chapel.
Not an exact copy, but a free artistic interpretation from the interwar period (ca. 1920–1935), which combines the grandeur of the Renaissance with the elegant forms and warm tones of the Art Deco style.
The screen consists of solid wooden panels with a traditional chalk ground (gesso) on which oil paint has been applied. This classic painting technique gives the work depth and a subtle crackle pattern that only occurs through natural aging.
The leather edging with metal studs is typical of Art Deco furniture and interior pieces from that period.
With its impressive dimensions of approximately 170 cm high and 240 cm wide, this piece is a real eye-catcher—perfect as a decorative room divider or as a monumental wall art piece.
