A rare French lounge chair by André Monpoix from the 1950s, featuring a striking, graphic design and a delicate metal frame. The design combines the lightness of French post-war design with an almost sculptural appearance. A particularly characteristic feature is the stretched black plastic cord upholstery, which forms the seat, backrest, and armrests, giving the chair a transparent, airy feel. The white lacquered metal frame provides a striking contrast. The slightly reclined seating position and the flexibly stretched upholstery ensure a high level of comfort and lend the chair a pleasant lightness despite its minimalist construction. The foldable version is especially rare, uniquely combining functionality with modern French design of the 1950s.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear, minor paint chips on the metal frame, and a light patina. The upholstery is in good condition.
