Rare antique ceramic moustache cup / spout cup by the famous Belgian brand Emaux de Louvière (Boch Frères Keramis / Longwy style). This unique collector's item features a richly detailed floral motif using the well-known raised glaze technique (émaux cernés) in vibrant colors on a cobalt blue background. Historical function: The small half lid / rim at the top originally served as a moustache guard (tasse à moustache) so that the master of the house could drink without wetting his moustache or beard. Due to the spout, this model was also used as a sick or feeding cup (canard à tisane).
