Product description
Rare Raak 'Chanterelle' 185 / D-2015 designed by Maija Liisa Komulainen in the 1970s. The lamp features a striking mushroom shape (clearly inspired by the chanterelle mushroom) and nine half-spheres protruding around the central frame. Originally this lamp was designed as a combination between floor and table lamp: an ideal size for on a sideboard, low cabinet or as a striking corner light on the floor!
This specimen has been repainted from original anodized aluminum (copper-colored) to white in the past. (Raak also officially produced the Cantharel 185 in white, although that was much less common than the black, metallic or bronze-colored versions. So white was offered, but rather as an exception or on order.) Here and there you will see some minor scratches and signs of use, something to consider if you are looking for a perfectly restored item. For the lover of authentic vintage, it is just a fine addition to the character of the lamp.
The lamp has the original Raak Amsterdam sticker, but there is also Raak 185 printed on the base. Works technically fine, gives warm atmospheric light, and is ready for a second life! Comes with 9 new LED bulbs E27 socket.
