A classic of sculptural Scandinavian design. For sale is an exceptionally large, rare, and beautiful dining room set by Danish designer Rainer Daumiller from the 1970s/1980s. Unlike the far more common pine models, this set is distinguished by its solid alder wood construction. The alder gives the set a particularly elegant, fine grain and a beautiful, warm honey tone. This monumental 11-piece set is an absolute rarity on the market and offers the perfect combination for large gatherings: 1x dining table (solid wood, extendable with 2 leaves), 6x dining chairs (without armrests), 4x armchairs ("Carver Chairs" with the iconic round wooden legs and ergonomic seat contours). The furniture is characterized by its distinctive, organic-brutalist lines and extremely high-quality craftsmanship. The chairs are incredibly comfortable thanks to their contoured seats and backrests. The set is in good vintage condition with normal signs of age. There are superficial scratches and a beautiful, authentic patina on the wood, which perfectly accentuates the sculptural character of this design classic. The set is completely stable and ready for immediate use. A real eye-catcher for lovers of Scandinavian modernism! Please note: As this is a very heavy solid wood set, collection is preferred.
