Original Raak Globe 2000 floor lamp (designed by Frank Ligtelijn in the 1950s). The lamp features a glass globe supported by a chrome-plated metal base and a cast iron foot. The stem is height-adjustable. This example has a transparent glass globe and is a slightly later version of the lamp, presumably from the 1960s. The wiring and switch have been replaced. The switch type is identical to the original. It fits beautifully in many interiors and is a real eye-catcher! Excerpt from the Raak catalog: A globe full of light that can revolve along its equator and all its meridians. It casts a powerful beam of light onto the ceiling or wall, providing indirect lighting. Or it shines directly onto books and magazines. The exceptionally beautiful base and the delicate setting of the glass globe reveal the hand of a goldsmith from the Raak team. D-2000 – Globe – a transparent glass globe on a matte chrome-plated, adjustable tripod (from 125 to 165 cm). Inside the globe is a metal reflector for a lamp up to 75W. Suitable for direct and indirect lighting; spherical grey-violet or clear natural glass.
