Rare vintage design pendant lamp, named 'Kompas' (model B-1280), designed by B. Lodder for the well-known Dutch manufacturer Raak Amsterdam around 1968-1972.
The lamp is known for its functional and modernist design from the middle of the last century (Mid-Century Modern).
The shade is made of brushed aluminum with a white plexiglass (acrylic) interior. Gimbal suspension: The lamp features a distinctive black metal bracket that allows the shade to rotate 360 degrees.
By tilting the shade, you can switch between direct light (white side down) or indirect ambient light (white side up).
The pendulum system makes it easy to pull the lamp up or down.
The aluminum has a few small scratches and a minimal hairline crack near the screw of the plastic shade, but mentioned for completeness; not bothersome.
