The Prime was designed in 2020 by Studio Truly Truly. The sofa is comfortable, and thanks to the thick, almost voluptuous seat, it appears soft yet architectural. The arm cushions hang just slightly over the edge of the slender base, giving the design character. The Prime is sustainably produced, with particular attention paid to material usage. The cushions, armrests, and backrests can be detached from the frame without much hassle, making them easy to reuse or recycle. Additionally, the traditional wooden frame has been replaced by sustainably manufactured aluminum. This method of production reinvents the current way of thinking about sofa manufacturing. For instance, the same frame from the Prime 10010 can be used in various future designs. With this, we take recycling a step further than the traditional cradle-to-cradle approach to sustainable materials. In the design of the sofa, we replaced a large portion of the foam with natural springs and eliminated 96% of the gluing process.
