This wall shelf by Poul Cadovius combines ample storage space with an open and pleasantly light design. The warm wood tone, the finely crafted cabinet elements, and the delicate black metal brackets define its clean lines. The design remains one of the most popular classics of Danish Mid-Century Design.
The unit offers six shelves of varying depths, providing plenty of space for books, art, and decorative objects. It also includes two cabinets with sliding doors, a glass-fronted display case with glass shelves, and a lockable drop-down compartment. The front of this compartment is made of intricately woven veneer, forming a subtle geometric pattern and contributing to the shelf's distinctive features.
The high quality is evident in the carefully fitted fronts, the recessed handles, and the precise workmanship of each individual element. All shelves and cabinet modules can be repositioned along the wall rails and their arrangement adapted to different rooms and uses. Thus, the shelving system combines open display space with protected storage and, despite its size, remains pleasantly light.
The shelving unit is in very good condition overall, with only minor signs of age-related wear. The black lock cover on the right-hand cabinet is slightly damaged.
