Product description
An original ceramic table lamp by Kostka France from the 1980s. This highly sought-after model features a chunky, sculptural ball-shaped base with a diameter & height of approx. 26 cm (excluding the socket). Finished in a rare, vibrant purple monochrome pop-art glaze, it is fully marked on the underside with the original manufacturer stickers (Typ A, Max 60W, Class II double insulated) and features its original protective felt underlining with center access beneath the base. The purple ceramic is in absolute top condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The base is paired with a perfectly fitting, hand-selected vintage conical shade from the same era. The shade is made of cream coloured, finely ribbed moiré fabric (calendered watermark pattern) on a hardback styrene backing and measures 50 cm in diameter. It is structurally excellent and clean, showing only a few minor signs of wear and superficial vintage character consistent with its age. Equipped with an E27 socket, in working condition. Due to the size and fragility of the conical design shade, local pickup is highly preferred. Insured shipping is possible upon consultation, in which case the base and shade will be packed in two separate boxes to prevent transit damage.
