These striking postmodern armchairs were designed in the 1980s by renowned Dutch architect Arnold Merckx for ARCO. Crafted from black lacquered oak and upholstered in brown/cognac saddle leather, they combine sculptural elegance with high-quality materials.
With a refined silhouette, these armchairs feature a curved backrest and seat, offering comfort and visual appeal. The sculptural frame gives each chair the presence of a design object.
Arnold Merckx graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts and Technical Sciences in Rotterdam and started his own studio, Arnold Merckx Design. Over the years, he collaborated with leading Dutch design brands such as Montis, Pastoe, and Artifort.
The chairs remain in excellent condition, with only minor signs of wear on the armrests. The leather is beautifully preserved, soft and rich in tone.
