Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, in Northern France, has been home since the 18th century to a ceramic tradition rooted in the region's clays. The L'Amandinoise factory, whose hallmark depicts the town's characteristic bell tower, produced fine tableware porcelain there, renowned for the quality of its decorations and the robustness of its paste. This handled dish perfectly illustrates the taste of the years for soft colors and refined decorations. The wide almond green band that runs along the rim is framed by double gilded lines, accented by a frieze of embossed beads. The two flat, symmetrical handles are adorned with an embossed basketweave pattern, a finely executed pressed grid, enhancing the white of the porcelain. The gilded lines also run along the handles, uniting the piece in an elegant and coherent composition. Diameter: approximately 30 cm including handles.
