Poltrona Frau Vanity Fair. Officially called "model 904," but known as the Vanity Fair since 1984, this chair has become the emblem of Poltrona Frau. The project, which first went into production in 1930, is believed to have been developed based on designs that Renzo Frau bequeathed to his wife Savina. The deliberately voluminous configuration of the Vanity Fair armchair made it one of the universal icons of Italian design. Also available in a "baby" version, exactly two-thirds of the original, the Vanity Fair also makes a comfortable ottoman. The support structure of the Vanity Fair armchair is made of solid, seasoned beech. The upholstery utilizes both hand-formed vegetable horsehair and rubber-coated horsehair, and the seat cushion is made of goose down. The seat, backrest, and armrest spring system consists of hand-knotted steel biconical springs attached to jute straps. A row of leather-covered pins refines the back and sides of the armchair. Numbered edition series with a 24k gold-plated label. Legs in walnut leather (SC color black).
