Pine veneer curved layered wall lamp by Translandia, Denmark, 1960s. This beautifully crafted wall lamp showcases the organic elegance and warmth of Scandinavian design. Constructed from thin layers of pine veneer, the shade is formed into a series of soft curves and overlapping elements that create a sculptural presence both when lit and unlit. When illuminated, the natural veneer emits a wonderfully warm and atmospheric glow, highlighting the beautiful grain of the wood and the layered construction of the shade. Designs of this type are often attributed to, or mistaken for, the work of Hans-Agne Jakobsson, yet this example was produced by Translandia and possesses the same refined craftsmanship and natural materiality that have made Scandinavian wooden lighting so highly sought after. The lamp remains in wonderful vintage condition. There is one small crack to the veneer, but as no material is missing, it is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the overall appearance or structural integrity of the piece.
